A farmer with reasonable farm management practices is able to harvest over 200 larger nuts per palm annually, with several averaging 250 nuts per annum per palm and a few exceeding 300 nuts per annum, per palm. Those farmers fortunate enough to be close to large towns and cities and are able to sell tender coconuts for drinking purposes, not only realize a much higher price but also harvest approx. 30% more nuts. This is a beneficial consequence of early harvesting. These farmers gain on approx. 400 nuts per annum windfall profits for themselves.
